Local Barrel Riders Get Their Chance at World Title

Sunday, July 18, 2010 - Lora White, Bridget Nobles

Several area youth from the National Barrels Horse Association (NBHA) Louisiana District 5 will be vying for a shot at the next world title. These youth have qualified to compete July 26-31, 2010 in Jackson, Miss., at the NBHA Youth World barrel race show.

It is an honor for these local barrel racers to qualify for this prestigious barrel race.  Only top competitors at a local district level can qualify to go on to compete at this world level. These riders earned their spots in Jackson by earning the top five spots in D or the 4D format at the end of the 2009 running season.

There are all kinds of competitions throughout the week of riding, fun, and games. There will be youth from all over the world including the United States, Canada, Australia, France and other countries.

They will be competing against the top youth barrel racers in the world.  Along with this comes the ability to win high level awards and money.  You can follow the results and watch the show online at www.nbha.com.

The NBHA LA 05 District would like to congratulate the riders from our district and wish them all the best of luck.
