Stolen Four-Wheeler Recovered; Suspect Arrested

On July 17, a Harrisonburg resident reported his Honda Rancher ATV was missing from his home. Thanks to observant neighbors, the ATV has been returned to its owner and a suspect is behind bars.

Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s investigator Jesse Edwards arrested Josh McDowell, W/M, 24, of Grayson, La., on July 27, charging McDowell with Felony Theft and Probation Violation.

Sheriff James Kelly pointed out how important community involvement is in solving crimes, saying, "We got a possible identification from a concerned citizen and knew that suspect would be in the Caldwell Parish area. That identification and the description of the four-wheeler was relayed to Caldwell Parish by Investigator Edwards and within two days the 4 wheeler was spotted there.

The 4 wheeler was subsquently identified as the one involved in the theft and which lead to the arrest of McDowell.

“This was good work on the part of Investigator Edwards, the neighbor who put us onto the suspect and the Caldwell Parish Sheriff's Office for their assistance in the case".

Sheriff Kelly noted that McDowell has numerous prior arrests and is currently on probation with the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole.
