Michael Joe Mason, 44, of Jonesville died Sunday, July 4, 2010 in Jonesville. 

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Sandy Lake Pentecostal Church in Jonesville with Rev. Joel Ford, Rev. R.V. Couch, Rev. Greg Terrell and Rev. Clifford Hilton officiating. Interment will be in Heard Cemetery in Manifest.

Arrangements under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday. Visitation will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday until time of service in the church.

Mr. Mason was born July 15, 1965 in Jena to Charlie F. Mason and Thelma E. Bumpurs.

Mr. Mason had been a life long resident of Jonesville and attended Jonesville United

Pentecostal Church. He was a roofer and an avid outdoorsman.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie F. Mason, and step father, Carlos Bumpurs.

He is survived by his wife, Gwen Mason of Jonesville; son, Jordy Mason of Jonesville; daughter, Lacey Mason of Jonesville; mother, Thelma Bumpurs of Jonesville; brothers, Ronnie Mason and Roger Mason both of Jonesville; sister, Brenda Baldwin of Jonesville; step children, Tonya Warwick, Ashley Clark, James Glenn II; grandchildren, Dylan and Ethan Mason, and Hunner Johnson; six step grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Elton Tolbert, Ryan Mayo, Larry Parker, Robert McClain, John McClure, Jr. and Dan Scroggins. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Mason, David Morgan, Kevin Humble, James Mason, Galan Mason, and Kenny Mason.
