Task Force Takes Down Two More Meth Labs

Over the past few days several locals were arrested by the Catahoula Parish Sheriff's Office Task Force. On July 8, information obtained by CPSO led to the arrests of two people who were booked into the CPSO jail on charges of Operation of a Meth Lab.

Those two were identified as Michael Shane Prudhomme, 39, and Joyce Nicole Harris, 34, both of Jonesville. These two were arrested near Aimwell and were reportedly living in a "tent in the woods". A vehicle belonging to Harris was impounded in the operation.

In a separate operation, CPSO received information there was possible drug activity at a residence in the New Deal area. Upon arriving at the residence, Deputies found two subjects who were in the process of "cooking" crystal meth.

Arrested at the residence were Richard D. Coleman, 25, and Roger Parker, 43, both of Jonesville. Both were booked on the charge of Operating a Meth Lab.

In both operations, which lead to the arrests of these four, meth labs, or components for a meth lab were found.

In another incident, on the night of July 7, Quinten Matthews, 24, of Sicily Island, was booked on charges of Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, no license plate light and improper pass/crossing yellow line.

Sheriff James Kelly said his office will continue to work to stop drug abuse in Catahoula Parish, "Especially those who cook meth and use it to ruin their own lives and the lives of others".

He further stated, “The loss of a life, to ruin a family, and/or the loss of your freedom when you go to jail – it’s just not worth it."
