  • Suspected Arson in Glade Community

The old wood frame house at 396 Davis Road went quietly in the early morning hours last Sunday, apparently due to arson Parhams’ Fire Chief Justin Spinks said.

“There were no utilities hooked up to the house, which was unoccupied and apparently no lightning in the area at the time the fire started.”

Chip Stevenson, with the State Fire Marshal’s office came down Sunday to investigate the fire which was not reported officially until Sunday.

Joe Duncan who was the overseer of the house for Ms. Hattie Foster of Ferriday, saw the fire but by the time he got there, the house was too far gone to call fire fighters. He believed the fire was started sometime between 1-2 AM
